Well, if we are all going to start making home made, then maybe a few pence in our pockets for selling them online would no go amiss.

‘How to Sell your Crafts Online’ by Derrick Sutton is a book available from all good book shops.

Not only does it explain where and how to see your home made products but it also teaches you now to make your crafts stand out from the crowd, and then successfully sell online.

You’ll learn how to write fail safe product text, take perfect pictures and how you can make the most of the tools available on the well known Etsy website.

And, while your in the mood for buying a book then you must have also look at ‘Home made, Gorgeous things to Make with love’, by Ros Badger and Elspeth Tompson – it has 101 beautiful and useful craft projects you can make.

With so much to choose from I couldn’t help but have a go at making something a little different and came across an idea from a website with pretty box’s.

As you can see from the pretty box below it is covered in an old fashioned black flock effect. The pretty heart ornament on the top was from a piece of jewellery of mine.

Inside the box I am going to print strips of paper with journal prompts on them like, ‘The best things in the world can’t be seen, nor touched, but are felt in the heart” and “Every day is a gift that’s why they call it the present”. I’m also putting a few inside like “My greatest achievement in life was having you” and “We are so proud of you”. Each one I am going to role up and attach with a little bit of ribbon to a sweet and inside the box will be one for every week of the year.

I’ve not finished it yet but I just thought I would give you my idea in case anyone else wanted to do it. You can get pretty box’s from lots of places and could always cover the box in something you know will suit your gift.
