Did you know that an estimated 1 2 million tonnes of textile waste is thrown away ‘per year’ and it all ends up in a landfill site.
Soooooooooo join the millions of others and buy some vintage clothing which has now become one of the best ways to recycle.
They say that by opting for vintage clothing means that you are playing an active part in reducing extreme textile waste by recycling and rejecting the concept of throw- away fashion.

Vintage costume jewellery and accessories are very popular at the moment. In fact a pair of Terry de Havilland platform shoes which were dated the 1970’s – snakeskin platform sold at a recent auction for £300.
According to Homes and Antiques 1980’s jewellery by Thierry Mulger is very popular and pendants by Pierre Cardin can fetch over £500. Gosh I wish I’d known this, I sold an old Pierre Cardin brooch recently on Ebay for under £20 !!!!!
Anything Chanel of course is always in demand so forget about the 1920’s to the 1960’s as they will still fetch a few pounds but no where near as much as jewellery and accessories from the 1970’s and the 1980’s.

Apart from your usual auction sites another place to look for vintage accessories is the online Oxfam shop where you will see some vintage items like the ones pictured here.
