BE HAPPY – TOP 5 HYGGE BOOKS THAT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER…

With all the doom and gloom in the news at the moment we could all do with a pick up, so here’s my top five HYGGE books that will make you feel better.

HYGGE: A Complete Book on Living HYGGE, Bringing Coziness and Happiness in your Life with the Danish art of Happiness – Discovering How to Live Life & Enjoy life’s Simple Pleasures by Marie Lynggaard which was only published yesterday. This book is written to give you practical steps to reduce stress, declutter your life, overcome chaos and propel yourself to real freedom using the principles of hygge. This book will help you become super knowledgeable about Danish philosophy of happiness and well-being even if you are a complete beginner with no hygge experience.

HYGGE : How to live with MINDFULNESS your MINIMALISTIC LIFESTYLE. Discover THE NORDIC DANISH WAY that will give you the reason of happiness and enjoy the habits of living in your COZILY home by Olivia Life, and also only just published on 1st March. Everyone has the secret of his or her joy. However, for that, you have to know yourself well, of course, and know what you want. This book will help you do it. Even if you are stressed and your days are gray, you will learn to smile at life in no time.

THE COSY LIFE WITH HYGGE by Pia Edburg published 1st May 2019. Rediscover the joy of the simple things through the Danish cultural concept of Hygge in The Cozy Life with Hygge. This book will inspire you to slow down and enjoy life’s cozy moments! Say goodbye to the winter blues and live a healthier, more centered life.

HYGGE : Comfort & Food For The Soul : A cosy collection of comfort food, drinks & lifestyle recipes for you, your friends & family to enjoy by Cook Nation published in November 2016. I had to include this book with its recipes that will pick you up when your feeling down. Hygge is warm drinks, comfort food, cosy clothes, candles, blankets, conversation, bike rides & walks through the forest. Hygge can be tasted, seen, heard & felt – it affects all our senses. In short it’s about enjoying the simple pleasures in life.

HYGGE In The Early Years by Kimberley Smith published in December 2017. We can’t forget our little ones especially during the very demanding early years. This book is about HYGGE in the early years The Danish approach to life that focuses on living in the moment and enjoying every minute. It’s not about having to buy new things but simply taking the time to enjoy the special every day moments we have. This book will look at how we can embed a little bit more hygge in our day to day teaching and learning with the children and also for ourselves to improve wellbeing and work life balance.

I set up Crafted By B Studio after retiring from writing a blog for over 10 years on chronic pain. As a chronic pain sufferer myself I had always used art as a way to relax and take me away from my pain and stumbled upon paint by numbers by fluke. I was hooked from day one and went into custom paint by numbers as I progressed with my others. Over the past 3 years I have completed over 20 pieces and also made some of my own unique pieces. I am happy to help anyone who might like a custom picture made into a piece of beautiful art using this type of technology. I am also interested in lots of different types of crafts which I enjoy with my 4 grandchildren so my site will have lots of links and posts on mixed crafts and arts.

  1. Ooo these sound good! I love the whole hygge vibe, much more so since chronic illness as I’ve come to appreciate the joy of comfort and being at home so much more. Thanks for the recommendations! xx
